Everyday that the MSM, Democrats, Leftists, Never Trumpers etc. pray to Lucifer for a recession, the Economic Train decides to rain on their parade. It’s glorious to watch.

Consumer confidence is directly correlated to consumer spending which accounts for 70% of our Quarterly and Annual real GDP rate.

From the article linked above:

U.S. consumer confidence remained unshaken by unjustified media hype about a potential recession. The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) declined only marginally in August after a big rebound in July.

The prior month was revised 0.1 higher from an initially reported 135.7. Forecasts ranged from a low of 126.0 to a high of 133.0, with the consensus coming in at a still elevated 130.0.

The Index now stands at 135.1 (1985=100), down only slightly from 135.8.

Interestingly, the Present Situation Index – based on consumers’ assessment of current business and labor market conditions – rose significantly from 170.9 to 177.2. That’s the highest level since November 2000, when it came in at 179.7.

“Consumer confidence was relatively unchanged in August, following July’s increase,” said Lynn Franco, Senior Director of Economic Indicators at The Conference Board. “Consumers’ assessment of current conditions improved further, and the Present Situation Index is now at its highest level in nearly 19 years.”

Richard Baris states the following in a tweet, “There has NEVER been a recession with consumer confidence this high. Present Situation Index is at a 19-year high, and the Expectations Index eased only slightly, moderately less so than the Present Situation rose.

Recession obsession is a delusion.”

Another big big win in court. The Obama legacy is being destroyed.

U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood has handed a victory to the state of Georgia and nine other states that sued the federal government (and to the rest of the nation) by declaring that the  WOTUS Rule is unlawful.

Wood stated that the rule, which was intended to provide better protection of the nation’s water, violated the Clean Water Act and the Administrative Procedure Act, and she remanded it back to the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers for further work. She wrote that while the agencies have authority to interpret the phrase “waters of the United States,” that authority isn’t limitless, and therefore their decisions in doing so do not fall under what’s called Chevron deference, a matter of case law in which — for lack of a better phrase — the tie goes to the agency.

The Wall is continuing to be built and local news is reporting on it.

Today (August 26) is the last chance for public comments regarding the proposed border wall construction in Starr County.

Nearly 700 comments have been submitted, some in support, others in opposition. The proposed action is to construct a border wall system along Roma, Escobares, La Grulla, and Rio Grande City. The border wall system would consist of 30-foot tall steel posts and enforcement zones with gates and surveillance technology.

Customs and Border Protection says the exact location will depend on environmental concerns, operational requirements, and impact of water flows.

A new website “TrumpWallconstrution” went live last week with information on the current progress of the Trump Border Wall.

The website includes an interactive map that has information on planning and current work in progress of the prominent sectors of the border wall.

The creator Donaldu Magnus wrote this as an introduction.

“Welcome to my website! I created this to be a one stop shop to find out all about the status of Trump’s border wall. The fake news refuses to cover this in any kind of meaningful way other than shallow 30 second clips or short articles. I was frustrated that nobody was covering this in a way to really understand exactly where the new wall was being built and where the existing wall was. The US-Mexico border is 2,000 miles long and I didn’t really understand exactly where the “wall” already was and where the new wall would be built. So with my interactive map you can see exactly where the wall is being built as well as current “wall”.

I will do my best to keep my map and website updated with the latest information including pictures and videos.

Our President and his administration continue to take a sledgehammer to the illegals living in our country.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said this week it has ended a policy that allows migrants to not be deported while they or their family members receive life-saving medical treatments.

A USCIS spokesperson told The Hill in a statement Tuesday that the change took effect Aug. 7 but provides exemptions for military families.

The spokesperson added that the policy is not ending, but will instead be handled through Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“As with any request for deferred action, ICE reviews each case on its own merits and exercises appropriate discretion after reviewing all the facts involved,” an ICE spokesperson told The Hill in a statement Tuesday but declined to say whether the agency would be taking over the program from USCIS.

Meanwhile in Mexico, the Africans & Haitians are fighting with the Mexican Police.

China is dying a slow death with each passing day.

  • Hasbro’s CEO says, “We’re seeing an opportunity that will lead us, by the end of 2020, to be at about 50% or under for the U.S. market coming out of China. We believe by 2023, we should be under a third.”
  • Although Hasbro feels confident that it will be able to move most of its business out of China in the near future, it still expects to be hit with the 10% tariffs that the president announced earlier this month but later delayed.

Hasbro shifting its business out of China has been positive for the company, according to its CEO. “It’s gone very well for us,” Brian Goldner told CNBC on Tuesday.

“We’re seeing great opportunities in Vietnam, India and other territories like Mexico. We’re doing even more in the U.S. We brought Play-Doh back to the U.S. last year,” Goldner said on “Squawk on the Street.”

There was an interesting article in the South China Morning Post that admitted what we all know. Chinese companies cannot sustain a business model without access to the U.S. market.

Those Chinese companies are praying the CCP central government keeps devaluing their currency, because U.S. purchasers, including wholesalers and intermediaries, have told those manufacturers they will not pay the import duties.

U.S. corporate buyers are leveraging the pressure applied by our President.

From the article linked above:

The US client called us last weekend and asked us to pay the additional tariff of 5 per cent. We could not refuse since it was our idea to bid to supply the canned fruit for the supermarkets,” she said. “We have no way to deal with it now. We only hope that the yuan will depreciate in the coming weeks and offset the new tariff. Otherwise, we will lose a lot [of money] on this order.”

If the yuan does not further depreciate by more than 5 per cent, she added, the company will have no choice but to cease exports to the US after October 1.

[…] “In the case of medium-and high-end furniture, even with the addition of tariffs, it is still impossible to find substitute markets for our products,” said Xie Jun, a furniture exporter in Haining, a city in Zhejiang province where hundreds of furniture factories make goods for export to the US.

[…] “For Chinese exporters, it is useless to be afraid because there is nowhere to hide. We can only rely on the wisdom and countermeasures of the central government,” he said, adding that as long as Beijing can maintain employment levels and prevent the housing market from collapsing, “we are not afraid”.

American farmers stand behind our President and what he is doing to China!

Energy Dominance is wonderful to see in action. We are no longer dependent on OPEC.

From the article linked above:

  • The U.S. is about to boost its status as a major oil exporter.
  • New pipelines are coming online to transport oil from a bottleneck in the Permian Basin to the Gulf Coast where it can be shipped to the world.
  • The U.S. is turning the Gulf Coast into a major export hub, and that could one day make U.S. crude an international benchmark, according to Citigroup’s Ed Morse.
  • Citigroup says U.S. oil exports of 3 million barrels a day could grow by a million barrels a day this year and another million next year.

The oil market is already struggling with too much supply, and the U.S. is about to flood the world with a lot more.

In the last decade, the U.S. has more than doubled oil production to 12.3 million barrels a day, making it the world’s largest producer.

This month marks a big change for the industry with the start of the Plains All American Pipeline’s Cactus II, a 670,000 barrel a day pipeline, connecting the Permian Basin to Corpus Christi, Texas, and from there to the world. That pipeline, and another, named Epic, are just the start, with more to follow.

The new pipelines are expected to take more Texas crude to the Gulf Coast, and from there it can be shipped out to the world, but the world is now well supplied, and even more U.S. oil could help depress prices, especially if the trade wars continue to suppress demand.

Our President announced his next rally!

We will never lose under PDJT!
