News Roundup! Jesse Smollett, Wall, Obamacare, Rep. Doug Collins, Climate Change, Circuit Judge, Steel Tariffs etc…

The House voted earlier this afternoon to override our President’s Veto on the National Emergency Declaration. They needed 285 Representatives to vote Yes. They were only able to get 248. Their attempt has failed!

Speaking of finishing the WALL, $1 billion dollars from the DoD was moved over to DHS for 57 miles of NEW WALL to be built in areas of Arizona and Texas.

From the article linked above:

The Pentagon has authorized the transfer of up to $1 billion to begin the construction of the border wall in support of President Trump’s national emergency declaration, according to Fox News.

The funding would cover 57 miles of 18 foot high “pedestrian fencing” in the Yuma and El Paso regions.

This–according to a New York Times reporter–marks the first time funds will be transferred under 10 U.S.C. § (b) (7) 248 for the wall.

According to the Pentagon statement, “10 U.S.C. § 284(b)(7) gives the Department of Defense the authority to construct roads and fences and to install lighting to block drug-smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of Federal law enforcement agencies.”

Last week, it was reported that the Pentagon had identified $12.8 billion from military construction projects that could potentially be diverted to fund the border wall.

AOC and the rest of the Climate MORONS got some very bad news out of Greenland!

From the article linked above:

A major Greenland glacier that was one of the fastest shrinking ice and snow masses on Earth is growing again, a new NASA study finds.

The Jakobshavn glacier around 2012 was retreating about 1.8 miles and thinning nearly 130 feet annually. But it started growing again at about the same rate in the past two years, according to a study in Monday’s Nature Geoscience.

Study authors and outside scientists think this is temporary.

“That was kind of a surprise. We kind of got used to a runaway system,” said Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland ice and climate scientist Jason Box. “The good news is that it’s a reminder that it’s not necessarily going that fast. But it is going.”

GENERATIONAL WINNING! Our President has his 37th Circuit Court Judge confirmed. Bridget Bade has been confirmed for the 9th Circuit.

Jessie Smollett had all 16 charges dropped by the Prosecutor, Kim Foxx.

From the article linked above:

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson are furious over the announcement today that all criminal charges would be dropped against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett after he was accused of filing false police reports stemming from an alleged hate crime.

“Where is the accountability in the system? You cannot have because of a person’s position one set of rules applies to them and another set of rules apply to everyone else,” Emanuel said today.

Emanuel went on to praise the work of the Chicago police: “Our officers did hard work day in and day out, countless hours working to unwind what actually happened that night. The city saw its reputation dragged through the mud … It’s not just the officers’ work, but the work of the grand jury that made a decision based on only a sliver of the evidence [presented],” he continued. “Because of the judge’s decision, none of that evidence will ever be made public.”

“[This case] sends a clear message that if you’re in a position of influence and power you’ll be treated one way and if you’re not you’ll be treated another way,” he said.

I don’t think we have heard the final word on this decision earlier today!

Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia released the George Papadopoulos’ transcript earlier today.

Our President sent another direct hit on the previous administration. He knows exactly what was done and assures the country that no other President will have to deal with what he dealt with.

We are getting closer and closer to the end of Obamacare!

From the article linked above:

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

The move is an escalation of the Trump administration’s legal battle against the health care law.

Our President tweeted the following in anticipation of the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court upholding the District Court’s decision.

A major decision came down from the Court for International Trade in favor of the 25% steel tariffs our President has imposed.

From the article linked above:

The Court of International Trade, the body that hears constitutional challenges to federal trade policy, rejected an effort to overturn President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on steel imports on Monday.

The American Institute for International Steel, a trade association, had sued the administration, arguing that the president exceeded his authority when he claimed last year that the tariff was justified under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act, which involves protecting “national security.” The court said Monday that it lacked the authority to second-guess the president’s decision.

“[I]dentifying the line between regulation of trade in furtherance of national security and an impermissible encroachment into the role of Congress could be elusive in some cases because judicial review would allow neither an inquiry into the president’s motives nor a review of his fact-finding,” a three-judge panel said.

We are continuing to WIN!
